Synergy Needs Inbound Rules on Win 7

When configuring synergy on windows7, don't forget to open this policy

I love synergy. Synergy is a little program that lets you share your keyboard and mouse with other computers on your network.

I recently set up synergy to work on a windows7 computer so I could share keyboard and mouse with a linux machine. It didn't work. Before I became too melancholy I googled and was able to find out that I needed to enable two Inbound rules.

In the Windows Firewall Advanced Security, select Inbound Rules. Next find the two rules called File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request - ICMPv4-In) and enable those rules.

That should get synergy running for you.

Note: Those rules also may prevent your machine from answering ping requests.
